1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Akiya Japan's website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.
2. Use License
Permission is granted to temporarily access the materials (information or software) on Akiya Japan's website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only.
3. Disclaimer
The materials on Akiya Japan's website are provided on an 'as is' basis. Akiya Japan makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.
4. Limitations
In no event shall Akiya Japan or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on Akiya Japan's website.
5. AI-Generated Content and Translations
Property listings on Akiya Japan are sourced from third-party Japanese real estate websites. Property descriptions, translations, and supplementary information displayed on our website are generated using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies — including incorrect translations, misrepresented property features, or inaccurate area descriptions.
You must independently verify all property information — including but not limited to price, location, property features, condition, and specifications — against the original Japanese listing before making any decisions. A link to the original source listing is provided on each property page for this purpose.
Akiya Japan does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content and accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from reliance on such content. AI-generated descriptions are provided for general informational purposes only and do not constitute professional advice or a representation of fact.
6. Accuracy of Materials
The materials appearing on Akiya Japan's website could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. Akiya Japan does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete or current.
7. Links
Akiya Japan has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site.
8. Subscription Cancellation
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime from your account settings. If you cancel before any payment has been successfully processed, access ends immediately and you will not be charged. If you cancel after payment, you'll continue to have access until the end of your current paid billing period. Cancelling inside the account provides you with a confirmation email.
Important: Requests to cancel via email may be subject to spam filtering. Please do not do this. It is important you manage these changes from inside your account. Please contact us at contact@akiyajapan.com if you experience any difficulties.
9. Gift Subscriptions
Purchase and Redemption
Gift subscriptions allow you to purchase premium access for another person. All gift subscription prices are in USD. Upon purchase, you will receive a unique redemption code that can be delivered via email or as a printable gift card.
Validity and Expiration
- Gift redemption codes are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase
- Unredeemed gift codes cannot be refunded after 14 days from purchase
- Once redeemed, the subscription period begins immediately
Non-Refundable Credits
Gift subscriptions are sold as non-refundable credits. Once a gift code has been redeemed, it cannot be reversed or refunded. If the recipient already has an active subscription, the gift will be stored as a credit and automatically applied when their current subscription expires.
Consultation Add-ons
Gift subscriptions may include optional consultation credits. These credits are stored in the recipient's account upon redemption and can be used to book a consultation session at their convenience. Consultation credits do not expire while the recipient maintains an active account.
10. Referral Programme
How It Works
Akiya Japan operates a referral programme that rewards existing subscribers for introducing new paying members.
For the person who shares a referral link (the referrer): When someone uses your personal referral link and becomes a paying subscriber, you earn one (1) free month applied to your own subscription as a billing credit. Credits are applied directly to your payment provider account (Stripe or PayPal) as a discount against your next billing cycle. If you do not have an active subscription at the time the reward is granted, the credit is stored on your account and applied automatically the next time you subscribe.
For the person who uses a referral link (the referee): Your first billing period (month or year, depending on the plan selected) is charged at a discounted rate of USD $1 (monthly plans) or USD $40 (annual plans) instead of the full price.
Eligibility
- The referral programme is open to current subscribers with an active paid subscription.
- Referral discounts for new subscribers apply to first-time subscribers only. Users who have previously held a subscription are not eligible for the referee discount.
- Referral links are for personal sharing only. Mass distribution, paid advertising, or spam is prohibited and may result in account termination.
Reward Limits and Caps
- Referrers may earn a maximum of 12 free months over the lifetime of their account.
- Milestone bonuses may apply at certain referral counts and are subject to the same 12-month lifetime cap.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
Provider-Specific Credits
- Referral credits are applied to the payment provider you are currently subscribed with (Stripe or PayPal).
- Credits are non-transferable between payment providers. A credit earned while subscribed via Stripe will be applied as a Stripe discount; a credit earned while subscribed via PayPal will be applied as a PayPal billing cycle discount.
- Credits are non-transferable between users. You cannot give your credits to another account.
Qualifying Referrals
A referral qualifies when the person you referred makes their first successful payment. Trial periods alone do not qualify. If the referred subscriber cancels before completing a payment, no reward is granted.
Programme Changes
Akiya Japan reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral programme at any time. Credits already granted at the time of any change will be honoured.
No Cash Value
Referral credits and discounts have no cash value. They may not be redeemed for cash, transferred, or applied to any purchase other than an Akiya Japan subscription.
11. Modifications
Akiya Japan may revise these terms of service for its website at any time without notice. By using this website you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.
12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.
